Dan initially sought yoga for its physical benefits, hoping to gain balance and flexibility to improve as a rock climber. As his practice deepened and became more consistent, however, he began to understand yoga as a means to explore, understand, and challenge himself non-physically as well as physically. A graduate of Bowdoin College and the New York University School of Law, Dan completed the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York’s teacher training program in 2017 and became a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in 2018. He continues to study with his primary teachers, Institute faculty members James Murphy and Michelle LaRue.
