Keely Garfield is a certified E-RYT 500 yoga teacher and an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist (UZIT) utilizing yoga, restorative yoga, meditation, essential oils, reiki and contemplative care. Keely has a strong background in Iyengar and Vinyasa yoga and practices in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition of the White Plum lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi with her teacher Roshi Pat Enkyo O’Hara.
Keely has taught all levels of yoga, yoga teacher trainings, and her signature restorative workshop Stop, Drop & Roll at many yoga studios as well as leading Yoga & Wellness for Dancers at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and at universities. Keely teaches yoga for The Village Zendo, leads Urban Zen trainings at Yogaworks, and is a lecturer in dance at Eugene Lang College, The New School for Liberal Arts. She has served as the clinical coordinator for UZIT at The Farber Center for Radiation Oncology, worked in oncology at Beth Israel Medical Center PACC, and led two UZIT trips to Haiti working at Saint Damien’s Pediatric Hospital and Orphanage. Additionally, Keely holds a BA and an MFA in choreography, and her path has been shaped by her work as an acclaimed choreographer and dancer.
Keely is also blessed by being the mother of two beautiful beings. Om Tat Sat!
